Hi everyone and welcome back to home head chef today I’m gonna be showing you how to make my Blue Ribbon chili dog sauce This chilli sauce is amazing it goes great on dogs burgers it’s my interpretation of a Coney Island style chili dog sauce so let’s step up to the cutting board and see what we need for the chili sauce we are going to need 1 pound of ground beef 1 cup of water 1

Medium onion finely diced 1/2 a cup of tomato sauce fourth a cup of ketchup 1/4 cup of yellow mustard 2 teaspoons of minced garlic 2 teaspoons of chili powder and about a teaspoon of salt let’s head over the stove and get cookin in a large pot we’re going to turn it on

To medium heat we’re gonna get in our ground beef our onions and our cup of water we’re gonna get in here with our hands to make sure they’re clean we’re gonna break apart the ground beef we’re gonna want to simmer this for about 10 to 15 minutes now as it starts to come

Up to a simmer you just want to get in there with your spoon and break it all apart you want this to have like a velvety smooth texture in our mouth so this is what’s going to allow that to happen after 10 minutes this is what we’re looking for now we’re gonna strain

This and we’re gonna work on the sauce and now we’re gonna go in with everything else tomato sauce ketchup mustard garlic chili powder and a little bit of salt we’re gonna stir this up get it all well combined we’re gonna let it simmer on low for about 20 to 30 minutes and then

We’re gonna get a taste of it so I’ll see you then and that’s our chili sauce let’s head back to the cutting board I’m gonna heat up some hot dogs and we’re gonna get a taste of this [Applause] There you have it that’s our chili dog sauce let’s get a taste it’s really good I took a big bite you’re going to give me a second it’s so good it has a velvety tight texture pretty sure I have it all over my face which comes with chili dogs you can top

  5. Could you not just simmer the meat until most of the water is evaporated then add the ingredients to make the sauce? I'm a single man and the less I have to wash the better.

  6. Yup, this is the best stuff ever. I used this recipe to do chili dawgs for a few catering events and they were a huge hit. I couldnt stop eating em either. As a matter of fact, Im gonna make some chili dawgs for the Fourth!

  7. I also make Chili Sauce. In fact I made some earlier. But I like mine to taste more like Coney Island Sauce on a hot dog. Our techniques are pretty much the same. But besides all of the ingredients we both use, I also add Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, cumin and celery salt.

  8. I have been looking for the perfect hotdog chili sauce recipe for the last month and by far this one is the easiest and has all the ingredients that I like.
