Looks better to me! If antyhing you could maybe put the bottom right column closer to the edge, but I think this looks pretty good.

    What varities you growin?

Looks good here. And honestly your original layout probably would have been fine if you had just shifted them slightly so they were staggered.

That’s going to be a BOUNTIFUL pepper bed! Love it. My best pepper year was when I had them spaced closer than what’s advised, I think they shaded the soil and kept the soil cool and moist while still having sufficient open canopy up top for sun.

This is the exact spacing I’m using for my peppers this year

Looks much better!! Very nice job 🙏🏼

  6. You will have more space if you place them all the way to the wood frame

It will be tough to get the peppers off the middle ones but the plants will be healthy at this spacing

I plant eight in a 4×8. Each plant gets a 2×2. Any denser than that and they generally crowd and shade each other in the morning and evening. Some varieties stay pretty compact and could be planted this close together, but 3-4 ft plants don’t like it in my experience. I’ve noticed they will try to send long spindly branches over each other to compete for sun.

Offset the center row by moving the row forward or backward.

I would space rows closer and stagger 3 in a row, two in a row etc.
