– Mm, mm, this is a contender. Hello, I’m Ann. I’m a mum, and today I’m gonna be trying other mums’ apple crumbles. – I love crumble because it’s so comforting, and it’s got the cooked apple on the bottom. The apples got cinnamon. Real comfort food. – My family love my apple crumble.

Some of them like cinnamon in it and nutmeg, and orange grind in it. Every single one of them love my apple crumble. – I think apple crumble, the simpler the better really. I was debating whether or not to put cinnamon on this, but I didn’t in the end.

– Cinnamon is the world’s oldest spice, and it’s absolutely delicious. I’ve got some in the apple mix and some in the topping as well. – Custard is very important to go with apple crumble. I love that rather than ice cream. – I do make my own custard, and I’m very pleased with myself

Because previously my jugs have gone wrong, but today’s went right, which is good. – Right, I’m ready to try the other mum’s apple crumble. – There is no contest here. – Oh, this looks interesting. Oh, that looks quite a lot of oats in there, but their crumble looks nice. – Mm, mm. This is a contender. – It’s quite thick and cake-looking. Crumble isn’t supposed to look cake-looking, but it looks very nice. – Nice crumbly top.

Sounds really basic, but you gotta have a crumbly top to it. – Oh, wow, lovely custard. Oh gosh, that’s nice. I think her custard looks better than mine. – Oh, it’s nice creamy custard. Mm. – Love a good crumble, I really do. I’m looking forward to this. Mm. A lot of cinnamon in there. – Mm, that’s nice. It’s tasty. Would’ve liked a bit more crumble actually on the crumble bit. – I can certainly taste a lot of cinnamon. For my liking, it’s too much cinnamon,

But, nice, nice. – There’s not enough crumble, I don’t think. There’s a lot of apple, but the crumble’s quit thin, I think. But it’s really, it’s nice, it’s tasty. And I like the cinnamon addition and the oats. It’s nice. I like the custard. I think the custard’s quite nice. It’s a good consistency.

It’s nice and creamy. It’s nice tasting. – I think it deserves a seven. It’s very edible and very nice. It’s just not a standard apple crumble. – I’d give this one an eight actually. It’s nice. It’s good, it’s lovely, yep. Thumbs up. – Oh, that looks lovely. This is how traditionally, I think an apple crumble’s made. Little bit overcooked here. The apple looks nice. – Yes, this is an apple crumble, all right. This one here looks shop-bought to me, but it’s nice. I’m excited to try, come on. – I think it actually looks similar.

That isn’t mine, is it? – [Producer] No. – This is nice. I love it. Talk amongst yourselves. Comfort food, this is gorgeous. – Mm, really nice. I can taste the apples. They’re generous with the apple. I like bits of it being crunchy and the other bits sugary. Yeah, it’s a good crumble.

– I could be here all day, you know that. Mm. Really enjoyed this. Very nice. – I think she makes it similar to me. A little bit more crunchy than mine, which isn’t a bad thing. I like it crunchy, as I said. And a little bit overcooked on the edges.

I’m gonna give this a nine and a half. It’s almost perfect. Lovely, well done. – To the mum who made this crumble, thank you. That is utterly delicious. I love it. This is eight and a half out of 10. – Very nice. – Oo la la. The custard looks quite rich. Smells good. Lots of vanilla in there, which is nice. – Smells nice. Smells quite, mm, I don’t think the custard’s like mine, actually. But it’s nice. Nice smell to it. – You are homemade, aren’t you? Yes, you are, of course you are.

The crumble is homemade too. – It’s got a nice crumbly top to it, and nice apple in the middle. Yeah, it’s nice actually. – Moment of truth. Nearly as good as mine. There’s no cinnamon. Cinnamon is a treat for me when it comes to crumble. It’s nice, but it needs cinnamon.

– I maybe would’ve liked the apples a little bit more separate. I don’t know. But it’s nice, it’s nice, but it’s gone together a little bit. This is my personal taste. – The apple is a lot softer. I like the apple to still have a little bit of texture. It’s quite mushy.

– The crumbly bit on the top is nice. It’s nice and sweet. It’s the right sweetness. It’s not too sweet. Maybe the apple is a little bit mushy, but it’s all crumble, isn’t it? So it’s meant to be a little bit like that. I think I would give this a seven.

– I’d give it a seven because I think it’s over the five mark. I’m happy. I’ll have it, my hubby will, the kids will. My neighbors will have it, hey. – Whoo, yeah. Thank you. – [Producer] Do you want us to just say a final message to the losing mums? – No, not really.
