  1. Basil is one of the plants I have trouble growing. So far this year, the seed are not germinating. Last year same result. My tomatoes and peppers are growing nicely.

  2. I’m planting square foot style in four 4×8 raised beds that we built. Already made one mistake. Peas with onions next to them. Appreciate all your information and I’m writing it down in my garden journal

  3. I have the book! Label? This takes all the fun out of guessing what you planted, what are weeds growing in the soil, and is that a flower you planted or can I eat this?

  4. One of the most informative videos that I've watched in a long time.I appreciate the breakdown.Right now I look forward to many more educational videos like this as a gardener

  5. I planted basil around my tomatoes last year and had no problem. I am doing lots of allyssum this year. Thanks for your great video as always

  6. This is such great info. Your Experience with companion planting is a great resource for all. I have your book on companion planting but I learn even more by watching and hearing your voice. Somehow it sinks in even deeper into my brain. thank you.

  7. You did it again Brian – concise, informative and a joy to watch – on repeat! Thanks as always 🌱👍🏻

  8. ahhhh im still sorry brian. i havent read the book. i just watch you enough. i bought it though.

    are we still friends

  9. Spearmint or any mint is invasive. I got some from my moms yard that her husbands mother had planted back in the 50’s. I collect it for tea and medicinal purposes but keep it contained in an area. I did not know you could use vermiculite as seed starting soil, thanks!

  10. Mold! I have seedlings growing and with BT, fans, H2O2, vermiculite, etc., there are NO fungus gnats which plagued me for the last few years. This is awesome! I'm using a combination of seedling mix, pearlite and peat moss but with the SLIGHTEST bit of surface moisture for a few hours, mold covers the soil in a thick gray layer. What the heck? Any ideas?

  11. borage is something tomato hornworms hate.. also marigolds dill parsley thyme basil and chammomile.. just an fyi.. love your channel.. 👍🏻 thank you so much.

  12. I just had your book in my hand a couple of weeks ago and again I don't find it! Never had such a mess in my house….ugh! Thanks Brian! Blessings!

  13. Oh no mint! Warning everyone it's a weed will take over grow in pots learned that lesson hard way
