INSIDER’s Herrine Ro and Emily Christian visited Boston in search of the best cannoli in the city. Their favorite was Bova’s Bakery. They get a look inside the kitchen and see how a few cannoli flavors are made, learn the history behind the shop, and talk to some locals about why it’s their favorite shop for cannoli and other Italian desserts. Finally, the two try some of the bakery’s most popular cannoli.

Why Bova’s Bakery Makes The Best Cannoli In Boston | Legendary Eats

  1. I really hope this shop has survived the pandemic because I go to school near Boston and would love to go to this place once it’s safe

  2. Hands down the best thing we ate on our trip was the Florentine Cannoli. Bovas was the only place we ate at multiple times.

  3. I cannot believe that woman just took a bite of her cannoli, WTF???? How disgusting and rude can a person be?

  4. Please don't say the secret is love or passion or heart or whatever
It's an awful expression – and I mean that from my heart, with love

  5. Pause @ 3:11:

Left guy: Who ah' these jokas and whatta they doin e'a? Give this cannoli a bad review and you'll get tossed into tha riva'.
Middle guy: Looking at her butt
Right guy: Looking at her butt

  6. Allow me to politely correct your well intended statement, regarding the Cannoli being the best in Boston.
You are not incorrect, but they are the BEST outside of Italy!
    It’s true.
    We all know this.
    ❤️

  7. Oh!
Also, allow me to sing the praises of another Bovas masterpiece.
Now,I don’t recall the specific name of this loaf, but they make literally the perfect round loaf of bread.
    Literally.
    The crust is perfect.
    And inside?
    Indescribably perfect!
No need for butter or anything else, just eat the whole thing in one sitting.
    Then,go for a 5 mile walk,of course😅

  8. Oh my god,sorry it’s me again🙄
Not trying to be a word nerd, but ‘cannoli’ is plural,’cannolo’ is singular.
    I know,I’m sorry,now I’m just being annoying,sorry.
But it’s kinda sorta important to me,because Cannoli are important.😅🥰

  9. I'd argue that Bova's actually makes the second best cannoli in Boston. I've tried all the big names (and even some smaller names) and I personally find Modern to be the best. Bova's ricotta filling is the perfect sweetness, but I find that they fall short on their shell. I think Modern has that perfect sweetness to their filling while also having the best shell. The flavor in Modern's shell is more prevalent and compliments the whole cannoli better than Bova's, and the shells at Modern's taste fresher. I found Bova's shells to lack that perfect texture and fell a bit more towards the softer side. And now for Mike's, there cannoli shell is way to thick, the filling is too sweet, and they aren't made to order so the shell can get a little soggy. This is all coming from an Italian who's tried dozens of cannoli from many places

  10. The Florentine are so much better than any other type. I may have had two in one sitting. Lolol

  11. This place is a scam. Wonder why they don't show how they make the shells? That's because most places buy them from a factory now. If you want a genuinely fresh, authentic cannoli ask them if they make their shells onsite!

  12. It's not just the cannolis that are great! The last dessert item I had there was a raspberry turnover – ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! The best I've ever had. Bova's is simply THE BEST! It's a must-eat destination when visiting Boston!

  13. this chick is a joke. so inside is a joke to hire some ditz that’s on a foodie channel and program and doesn’t know what a florentine is. and on top of it doesn’t even take a bite of it because she wont look cute. you’re an embarrassment. never watching this shit again.

  14. i just tried both Mike's Pastry and Bova's Cannoli , definitely Bova's Cannoli is best of best , too bad they don't have business like Mike's do which always have long line customs

  15. Thank god this is a bakery I only live an hour and a half from instead of hearing these great restaurants and bakeries that are like in Savannah or Detroit or something
