A classic dessert that’s become a regular in my home. I wanted to share it with you. Hope you enjoy it!

Ingredient’s:

Filling
2 lb / 1kg Granny Smith Apples
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp white or brown sugar (more if you prefer it to be sweeter)

Topping
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ Cup white or brown sugar (more if you prefer it to be sweeter)
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon powder
125g / 1/2 cup unsalted butter , melted
Pinch of salt

Method:

• Peel and chop 2 pounds or 1 kg of Granny Smith apples into little cubes.
• To that you’ll add 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons white or brown sugar (more if you prefer it to be sweeter), a 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.
• Give that a good mix and set it aside.
• For the topping, combine 1 cup rolled oats, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, a ½ Cup of white or brown sugar (more if you prefer it to be sweeter), a 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp cinnamon powder and a Pinch of salt. Whisk that up to combine well before adding 125g or a 1/2 cup of melted unsalted butter.
• Once mixed, it should look like this. Now, it’s a bit wet and lumpy but stick with it.
• Place the apples on a baking tray spread out evenly before adding the topping mixture. Spread this out as evenly as possible. No one wants to be biting into a random, thick chunk of the topping.
• Throw that into the oven at 180 Degrees Celsius or 350 Fahrenheit for 30 – 45 minutes until the topping is golden.
• Pull it out of the oven and set aside to cool.
• Grab a plate and help yourself to a generous portion of the crumble along with some vanilla ice cream.
