  2. Try making the best German Pancakes.
(Hint: must have fresh lemon, powd sugar and maple syrup on top). It’s easy but impressive

  3. Acre homestead is a great channel. Becky lives in a big house with amenities . She has chickens for eggs and began a garden maybe 3 yrs ago and is enlarging the process as time goes and documenting and sharing her progress.. Homesteading is word with broad meaning.

  4. Let food rest for 10 minutes after you take it off stove so you can actually eat it!! LOL!!The sauce will thicken up a bit as it cools….you want that.

  5. I always cut ALL proteins on a cutting board that can go in the dishwasher. Otherwise juice from the protein, especially chicken, will very in the groove made by the knife cuts.
I'm from Texas & love chicken & dumplings. I use a lot of baby carrots.
Actually chefs do measure out & prepare their ingredients before they begin, its called mise en place which means something to the effect of "everything in place" so it's great that you do that.
It's good your C&D came to a boil not just a simmer. Anytime you use roux or corn starch, it doesn't fully thicken until it comes to a boil. I've never put peas in mine, but I think I will next time. You may know all this cuz in watching you, I'm betting you know a lot more about cooking than you let on, but you're fun to watch. 😉

  6. Hope hurricane doesn’t get you and your family. We’re headed to key largo sept. 8th for the month. Actually, hope it doesn’t get us either! Be safe!

  7. My mother use make the best chicken and dumplings. And she didn’t use heavy cream and it was very tasty. Thanks for sharing.😊

  8. Every time I see someone or if I eat something to hot I think of the sitcom Reba. Where the son-in-law Van takes a bite of hot food and does the mouth hot food dance. you have to look up the scene online and watch it. It is so funny.

  9. I watch your picker and flipper channels, and I've been watching your cooking channel as well. I decided to watch all of cooking on a Saturday afternoon, so much fun couldn't have spent my time any better. So very fun and you have such a wonderful personality for this. I just adore you and your family. Please don't be so hard on yourself, you are a really great man. Barb

  10. It looked good to me….but yes the dumplings could be a tad smaller. I love how you just throw caution to the wind and cook away…I’ll keep watching!!!!

  11. HAHA! I shouted " Oh Honey NOooooo! and my Husband came running! He wanted to know why I was so alarmed…then we both watched you attempt to eat screaming hot dumplings again and again!! Keep up your culinary explorations…I'm 3 videos in and now you have two more fans 😂

  12. Dude…..a quart of chicken broth is 4 cups…..why use the measuring cup for that? It works better if you use a wooden spatula for scraping the bottom of that enamel pan. That fork doesn't get the fond off the bottom and it burns and the fork will eventually scratch that beautiful pan. "Carry on "
