There’s a story that goes with this one. In 1975, our family moved to Birmingham. I was a teenager, and my dad would take me to Golden Rule in Hoover. It was magical.
Fast forward 50 years, I’ve long sinced moved far away. But I came back to visit my dad in Bham a few months before his passing. I went to Golden Rule, picked up a couple of sandwiches and fries, and had my last meal with my dad… the same as the first meal in Alabama. This sandwich will always hold a special place in my heart (and no, it’s not heartburn)
