I think there is a whole section in the recipe archive for canned tomatoes, see the sidebar.
The canned serrano peppers, that’s neat I don’t think I’ve seen em before!
And yes, would make for a good salsa. IMO fire roasted canned tomatoes have a strong canned-tomato-y taste to them.

Absolutely. Used these two cans as a base with some fresh cilantro and garlic. Quick pulse. Tossed in sliced scallions. Maybe fresh lemon… I still haven’t gotten rid of the addicts.

The canned products give you more of a jarred salsa flavor, imo. Still delicious but you won’t get that vibrant pop as you do with fresh ingredients.

I have LONG been a proponent of pantry salsa. If you keep a few things on hand:
Canned Diced tomatoes Canned Tomatillos Chipotle pepper in adobo Canned Serranos Canned Jalepeños A variety of dried peppers (ancho, guajillo, morita, arbol etc) Fresh onions Fresh Garlic Salt Limes or other acid
You can produce an endless array of diverse salsas without ever having to go to the market (except for the onions and garlic).
You can see my posting history for some of the pantry salsas I’ve made.
