How to make Pho | Easy Pho Recipe | Vietnamese food
Hello & welcome back 🙂 Today, I’ll be showing you how to make pho. I love Vietnamese food and flavors and decided one day I wanted to learn how to make some Vietnamese pho. The pho recipe is one I found online and have been using as a reference but then ended up altering it. I decided to go with chicken broth since it’s quicker to cook than beef.
Pho Recipe-
Ingredients
Charred aromatics:
1 tbsp oil
2 onions , halved (skin on fine)
2″ piece of ginger (unpeeled)
Pho Soup Broth:
2 litres water
3 lb chicken thighs, bone in skin on
1 small bunch cilantro
5 star anise pods
1 cinnamon stick
4 cloves
2 tsp fennel seeds
2 tsp coriander seeds
8 tsp fish sauce
6 tsp white sugar
3/4 tsp salt
Noodle Bowls:
dried rice noodles , thin flat
2 green onions stems , finely sliced
bean sprouts
mint
cilantro
2 limes , cut into 4 wedges
Hoisin sauce
Sriracha
jalapeños
Instructions
BROTH:
Char onion & ginger – Heat oil. Place ginger and onion face down, leave undisturbed for 2 minutes until they blacken. Turn and leave for another 2 minutes.
Put everything in pot – Add water and remaining Broth ingredients EXCEPT salt. Bring it a simmer, then lower heat so it’s simmering VERY gently with the lid on, but open a crack
Simmer gently 1.5 hours. Scoop off scum (dirty foam) that rises to surface once or twice during the simmering.
Strain & measure – Remove chicken, then strain broth into a clean pot
Salt broth – Add salt, bring broth to a gentle simmer. Broth should be slightly on the salty side – it dilutes when you add the noodles.
Keep broth warm until ready to serve
Shred chicken meat, discard bones and skin.

hello and welcome back to my channel
thank you for being here today I’m going
to be showing you how I make
f um fall is one of those things that we
make at home maybe every 3 weeks we just
love soup here right so when I first
made F I made it the easy way where I
went to the store I grabbed some chicken
broth or some beef broth boiled it with
the herbs and spices I needed and called
it a day right then you realize that if
you have a little bit more time and you
want a healthier broth with what you can
control at home then you go ahead and do
it this way and today I’ll be doing
chicken because chicken’s a little
faster than
beef when I first made it from scratch I
did find a recipe that I’m going to
attach to the description below that I
use as a reference but now I kind of get
the gist of it and I add more or less of
what I think I would want in my broth or
as far as my flavor f is a venam soup
consisting of a bone broth depending on
what kind of bone you use um you’ll have
chicken or beef in there some rice
noodles um serve it’s served with herbs
limes bean sprouts specific toppings but
you use what you have you use what you
do like what you can find cuz sometimes
you can find every single ingredient at
the
store I love love love love love soups
and to me soups are cozy they’re
nourishing they’re comforting they’re
just so much deliciousness in a bowl
right it can be 99.9
de Fahrenheit outside and I’m still
going to cook soup I’m still going to
eat soup um this is something about it
and then this is going to sound a little
weird
but
f is kind of special because of all the
spices it uses like the coriander
the the fenel seeds the staries the
cinnamon the cloves right it’s like
drinking a salty tea water but good and
flavorful I can’t explain it it sounds
weird but it’s just so good and think
about the health benefits of all those
ingredients I just mentioned as well
right that’s like one of the highlights
for me with um and like I mentioned
before if you’re short on time there is
a shortcut you can go to the store and
just grab some beef or chicken broth
then boil that with the spices and serve
with chicken or beef your noodles all
the
toppings and you’ll have yourself a
quick weekday dinner if you have any
questions just hit me up in the comments
and if you’re still here watching and
you like my video um don’t forget to
give it a thumbs up and if you feel
called to subscribe then do that
too um and anyways peace and love enjoy
