The fastest way to grow ginger. This is growing Thai Ginger Galanga rhizome. What is the fastest way to grow ginger? I did a growing experiment the ginger. #1 is just compost and organic alfalfa pellets. #2 is compost and organic alfalfa pellets with a water reservoir on the bottom of the planter. #3 is compost and organic alfalfa pellets with a water reservoir on the bottom of the planter, a humidity dome and a heat mat to try and create a tropical environment for the ginger to sprout faster. This is 2-1/2 weeks of growing the ginger after planting.

The fastest way to grow ginger.
Thai Galanga Ginger rhizome.
I picked up some organic Ginger with visible Buds and divided them into several pieces. I allowed them to sit for 24 hours while the cuts healed.
After they healed. I soaked them in water at room temperature for two hours.
#1 is going to be watered as we would the typical house plant.
#2 has a water reservoir on the bottom of the planter.
#3 has a humidity Dome as well as a water reservoir. But then we’re going to take it a step further by adding a heat mat.
Ginger is a tropical plant so we’re going to try to recreate that environment.
So will #1, #2 or #3 grow faster?
All three are grown with 100 compost mixed with perlite and organic Alfalfa pellets as our slow release fertilizer.
#3 with the humidity Dome and the heat mat grew three times as fast

Wow! It took my ginger a whole month before it came up. You're using alfalfa pellets as fertilizer?
