**What is it:** The Honda Civic of winemakers doing a Chateauneuf. If the rest of their wines are any benchmark, it’ll be right down the middle of the road and pretty good.

70/15/10/5 Grenache/Mourvedre/Syrah/everything else. 2 years in large format oak.

    **Price Paid:** $30ish?

**Nose:** Ripe and slightly boozy reddish-black fruit. Plum skin, gravel-y mineral note.

**Palate:** Grenache flavor (I’m not sure what it is, but every grenache-forward wine has it). Strawberry, ripe red cherry, slightly blueberry, a bit of leather, a bit of garrigue, and that’s about it. Low acid and only moderate tannin.

**Takeaway:** A complete crowd pleaser of a wine for people who want to dip their toe into fancy wine without it being weird or scary. It’s just a $10 grocery store wine style-wise, but actually good and not artificial-feeling. 3/5

Good album selection! Nice to see another metal vinyl collector/hifi nut into good wine!

I would say the Guigal Côtes du Rhône would be more like your honda civic. 😂
