One of my all time favourite Loire producers doing Sec Tendre Chenin at the highest level. A blend of parcels up in Jasnieres on flinty clay over tuffeau and fermented wild with ~10 months in old barrels. I love this style where vintage variation determines final sweetness, I’ve had this wine a bunch of vintages and seen the wine range from super direct and feinting austere, to relatively opulent and rich. This bottle has been sitting around for a while and I kind of forgot it existed. At 9 years old but showing none of it. Juicy peach/stonefruit, wildflower honey, rocky/stony energy and the acid is still singing. Almost powdery on the finish and has length for days. Drinks closer to Mosel Kabinett than Vouvray Sec-Tendre. In it’s current expression it’s perhaps less tightly wound than on release but feels like it could go for decades.

This is an incredible one, I had it a couple of months ago and I still drool at the thought.
