This was unbelievably sweet. I cannot stress enough the ridiculous sweetness packed into this ice cream.
Also the color was kind of off-putting. I expected it to be whiter, like a vanilla cake, but as you can see, it's really yellow.
If you're someone who looooves a super sweet sugary type of ice cream, this was made for you. If not, steer clear.

It looks kinda freezer burnt? Or are my eyes just playing tricks on me?

It is ultra sweet— it has a ribbon of what is basically powdered sugar! And yet… and yet… i love it way too much

All the Milk Bar ice creams I have tried have been sickeningly sweet

Jenni’s birthday cake one is babomb and less sweet. The milk one has that stream of icing?

I’m really not impressed with milk ice creams. They’re… disappointing.

The milk bar chocolate fudge birthday cake flavor is sweet but it’s so bomb. The best fudgy chocolate I’ve ever had, real cake pieces and frosting in it 😌

Any treat I have bought from Milkbar, has been too sweet. The crack pie was especially bad. And I love sugar! We all have different tolerances and tastes so I’m not criticizing those who love it. I’m just not surprised about this ice cream.

It’s probably so sweet bc she got her start by making very sweet, unique baked goods with cheap, accessible ingredients. Many baking recipes call for condensed milk, corn syrup, sweet cereals, etc. I’ve never checked out their ice cream recipes, but I imagine they would also be made with sweet ingredients.

Yeah milkbar ice creams seem SO sweet to overcompensate and sort of distract you from the fact that the cream base itself is clearly not very high quality.

I miss the Milk Bar from 8-10 years ago. I lived in New York at the time and it was all small batch and high quality. This stuff was never meant to be mass produced.
