feel hi everybody everybody I’m back
everybody Genie young is back to show
you all how easy it is to make delicious
chicken fried steak some of you may call
it country fried steak this recipe is
super delicious it’s so easy to make it
doesn’t require a lot of ingredients if
you make a Gina Young style you’re going
to love me for this recipe here’s the
ingredients you’re going to need now
take a look down at my cube steak okay
you want to make sure it is definitely
cube steak that has like these little um
you can see how it was beat okay and
then we have allpurpose flour use any
kind of flour I do have some milk behind
me it’s just regular milk we have heavy
cream and butter you’re going to need
some eggs and spices to make it taste
good we will be using pepper parsley
flakes for color Adobo seasoning paprika
garlic powder and vegetable oil to fry
our steak make sure your hands are
impecably clean let’s get started with
this amazing chicken fried steak G young
style I can be more excited to show you
all how easy it is to make this
delicious recipe have it for lunch have
it for brunch have it for dinner just
make it because it’s simple and
delicious okay so now here’s what we’re
going to do the first thing that I want
to talk about is when you have your meat
you don’t want to cook it straight out
of the refrigerator because when you do
that and the meat is super cold it’s
it’s going to always cook up dry when
you let it kind of hang out on the
counter for a little while I it tastes
better it’ll stay more juicier okay so
now let’s go ahead and season we’re
going to season both sides and I’m going
to be using the black pepper oh my
goodness this is a super interesting
recipe black pepper we’re going to go in
with garlic powder I hope yall are
having an amazing day
today there we go we’re going to put
some pop paprika and the other day I
made Puerto Rican food and I used the
Adobo seasoning and I I just love it I
feel like I don’t use it enough so in
today’s recipe I’m using adobo it’s
packed with lots of flavor it has garlic
powder in it onion powder all right
there we go let’s flip these over we’re
going to season the other side and there
is salt in there as
well season the other side and then I’m
going to show you how to put put
together a quick dredge for this
beautiful meat there’s going to be
people that tell you um they don’t
really make cube steak because it can
tend to be kind of tough but in today’s
video I’m going to promise you the way
Gina Young makes it it’s never going to
be tough it’s going to be nice tender
Supple and delicious so now I would love

have you ever tasted country fried steak
or chicken fried steak I’m using the two
different names because some of you call
it you know different names all right so
now I’m going right in with my
eggs and
milk okay and then we’re going to use
our allpurpose
flour as our
dredge okay so we want to mix in our
eggs with our milk mix it in really well
and those of you that like a little bit
of spice you can throw some hot sauce in
there as well okay it’ll give some great
flavor okay so now let’s get our eggs
right in to the milk just like so and
then we’re going to whisk the two
together
perfect get this well Incorporated and
the first thing that I like to do and I
like to tell people when dredging things
up we’re going to turn around and put
our seasoned meat into something dry
first sometimes that can be corn starch
but in our case today we’re using flour
so we’re going to take our seasoned meat
dip it into the flour shake the flour
off into the milk and egg mixture and
then back into the flour dredge and then
Shake It Off to shake off any excess
flour and in the meantime we need to
heat up some oil let me show you how
much oil I have in my pan it’s not a
whole lot just a little bit just enough
to fry the steak just like so we don’t
need to deep fry it okay so there’s my
pan I’m using a vegetable oil feel free
to use any kind of oil that you would
like to
use here’s how I like to dredge the meat
we’re going to take it and this the
seasonings has had at least 15 minutes
to kind of seep down into that gorgeous
meat all right the meat is not super
cold so now let’s shake off the
flour
into the egg and
milk and that’s just a vitamin D milk
look okay let some of the egg come off
all right you don’t want for your crust
to be uh too wet all right and then back
into the dry pretty simple right simple
yet so delicious my husband lives for
this recipe and I couldn’t be more
excited to make this for him today for
lunch okay see that perfect and we’re
going to give it a nice shake and I’m
just going to set it on the platter
until I’m ready to fry it okay if you’re
not ready to fry it right now throw it
in the refrigerator and it’ll be ready
when you’re ready to put it into the oil
let’s go ahead and dredge a second one
while we’re ahead of
oursel gorgeous so now guess what Genie

Perfect Look at that perfectly
dredged so now while we wait on our oil
to heat up let’s talk about something
really quickly you know what I totally
forgot what I was going to talk about in
the next clip hopefully I’ll remember my
goodness what I wanted to say is the oil
that we fry this beautiful steak in be
sure after you fry your steak be sure
not to throw away the oil and those
little crispy bits that’s in the bottom
of the pan it’s called fond it’s packed
foled with flavor okay and so what we’re
going to do when we make our gravy we’re
going to use that oil and all those
crispy bits that’s filled with flavor
okay it’s going to help to enhance the
flavor of our grapy so now let’s get
this into the pan just like
so let’s do it that Sizzle got to hear
the sizzle if you don’t don’t put
another one in wait okay your oil has to
be hot in order for the steak to turn
out to
Perfection gorgeous looks like I can
only fit ah two pieces in okay I don’t
want to overcrowd the pan so I’m going
to have to do a second batch I was able
to stick another piece in because
naturally uh during the cooking process
your steak will shrink a little bit okay
look at that oh yes Dina and that’s why
they call it chicken fried steak because
you fry it like you would Fried Chicken
look at the color oh my goodness can you
imagine a piece of steak like this eat
it with gravy eat it without gravy just
eat it cuz it’s so delicious J that so
now take a look at our beautiful steak
here gorgeous now listen the fun thing
about making this cube steak is you can
eat it just like this serve macaroni and
green beans on a side and you’re good
right nice and tender in order to get
this nice and tender you don’t want to
have your heat yanked up to high you
can’t cook it on low cuz it’ll be
disgusting
medium medium is the key I’ve already
tasted a piece super tender okay so now
take a peek down in my pan I have those
remnants little tiny pieces packed full
of flavor and seasoning from our steak I
do want to add butter and it’s just
about a tablespoon that butter is really
just for flavor okay so we’re adding in
a little bit more flavor so what you do
when you’re making a r is always add
equal parts F equal parts flour okay you
can measure yours if you want I’m not
going to measure mine I know exactly how
much I need Okay so let’s put our flour
in this is a white flour which I like to
call like a milk
gravy okay kind of similar to my sausage
biscuit gravy that I make all right look
it took it look at that flavor going in
at any time this should never ever look
like plaster okay okay if for some
reason it’s too thick just add a little
bit more butter or a little bit of oil
we’re going to incorporate the flour
just like so and then the next thing
we’re going to do we’re adding in heavy
cream for a beautiful Rich
gravy so while you’re making your R it’s
very important that you let your flour
cook for I’d like to say at least four
minutes okay cuz you want to get that
raw taste from the flour you don’t want
a gravy that tastes real flour y I don’t
know if flowy is a word but you get the
gist of what I’m saying so cook that raw
flavor out okay so it’s been about four
to 5 minutes we’re going to add in some
heavy
cream okay and then I want to take my
whisk and we’re going to begin to make
our gravy you keep putting your liquid
in until you see that perfect gravy
consistency okay right now it’s super
duper thick okay but what I want to do
right now is just do what I can so that
I don’t have any lumps if there’s going
to be any lumps it’s just going to be
those little delicious pieces that were
in the bottom of the pan okay so let’s
do this and we’re going to season this
with garlic powder and black pepper and
if you feel like you need any more
seasoning in here go ahead and throw it
in your favorite seasoning we’re almost
to the finishing point of our gravy want
to get it nice and hot and then you have
the choice of smothering your beautiful
steak in the gravy what I like to do is
I like to let my loved ones pour as much
or as least gravy onto their steak so
that’s what we’re going to do today I’ll
put this in something that’s nice and
pourable and they can put as much gravy
that they would like to have on their
steak guess what I did to bring some
flavor into the gravy I put some chicken
Buon powder in there so what you want to
do listen to me put a little tiny bit in
taste it if you feel the need to put
more in put a little bit more in taste
it when you’re happy with the flavor
your loved ones are going to be happy
with the flavor okay so now that I’ve
done that let’s put some black pepper I
feel like a white milk gravy deserves a
nice amount of pepper and we’re going to
go in with some garlic powder perfect
little bit of parsley flakes cuz we
always like to make everything pretty
aay yes I’m having a time of my life in
