I know rust isn’t ideal but having inherited this Weber Genesis Platinum for free, this rust is really the only thing wrong with it. Most of the time I won’t see it as I’ll have the doors closed and rarely store anything inside, but I’m just wondering if it might spread to more of the frame (I’ve already had to put a bracket on the left side to shore up the frame) or if I should try to seal/remediate it any way?

That ought to buff right out.
Yeah a piece of plywood or scrap particle board should be fine.
Edit to say omg you people just can’t read sarcasm
Tis but extra decoration
Get a metal shop to cut you a piece of sheet metal for it
Duct tape
Make sure it’s a treated board.
It’ll be fine, I’ve used much worse for years.
You can probably order a replacement.
I wouldn’t worry the rust will be gone soon
Yes, you should take care of it.
If you had cared about just a little sooner you could’ve used bed liner spray to keep it a little longer.
Sheet metal and self tapping sheet metal screws and you’re golden. Me? I’d fire up the mig welder and call it a three beer job.
the grass build moisture every night and disperses upon your grill. Move to concrete
Cover it with a board? Why not just use construction paper?
I thought that was refried beans and some light cheese
Now this is the kind of “is this still okay” posts we need around here. Sick if people asking if it can be restored because the ash was left in it for a week
JB Weld son!!!
Yeah that’s shot. You can buy replacements on Weber’s site for all the parts though.
My grill has a removable “tray” which serves as theAmazon. (And from there a grease trap hangs). If yours does the same thing, you can get replacement ones on amazon.
i had the same deal, i put down a sheet of galvanized steel….won’t rust
Just cut some beer cans up until you have a full sheet of metal and then just like gorilla glue it on there
Cut some OSB and fit it on top
Bottom of your grill? That’s your lawn, dog.
Boards are flammable eh. Put a cookie sheet on it
