Question for you Mater' xperts here!

1) So I understand the cotyledens are the first very set of small leaves that first sprouted. Then in the blue are the true leaves. Why do they look different than the ones circled in red?

2) Out of the four seedlings I have, the one in blue is probably the one thats the most ahead, however, the one circled in blue is starting to have a yellowish hue and seems to ve little more limpy/weighed down compared to the rest. Why is this? The top (in red) is going strong.

I have watered it today, but I ensure the surface and a bit below are fairly dry between waterings. I have been using a general liquid fertilizer in 1/4 dilution once a week since getting the first set of true leaves.

Just for visualization for #2. The seedling with the circles, the branches seem more horizontal, whereas the first seedling next to it looks more like a “V”.

Im sure its 100% fine. Just wondering what may be causing this, or if this is a first sign to start some remediation.

    1. Sun Leaves. The red is the crown of the plant. The vine will continue to grow from this point.

“Suckers” or additional vining nodes will grow in the notch of the sun leaf and the main vine. It is optional to prune these if you are growing an indeterminate.

Yellowing is caused by overwatering, lack of light, lack of nitrogen.

Most likely too much water. Indoor seedlings usually require water 3-7 days depending on what you have set up.

There’s this dumb advice circulating to prune tomato blossoms…don’t.

They don’t stunt like peppers can. People prune lower sun leaves that scrape the soil and suckers. Like I said, It’s totally optional to prune however.
