I stumbled upon this item in my hotel room cabinet alongside wine and whiskey glasses. I'm curious about its purpose. My assumption is that it's intended for wine decantation.

I’ve never seen a wine gadget like that. My only guess is you fill it with ice.. pour whiskey through it and it chills the spirit into a glass.

Never seen such a thing but it seems like you could use it to remove sediments as they will gather in the curved part at the bottom and you can then pour most of the wine out without disturbing the accumulated sediment at the bottom.
