Sylvain Pataille, fleur de pinot- very tasty juice, the nose on this had a very distinctive blood orange note, also showing some development in the forms of dried autumn leaves and dusty earth. Once this got some air and warmed up it started really putting on some weight. Very complex and interesting.

Benjamin leroux, Saint romain- when I was picking out these bottles I didn’t have the intention to order any 18s, however with these being pretty solid producers I went against my better judgement and it worked out very well. This had tons of tension on the palate, very solid core of acidity gave this structure. Clean precise aromas of citrus, mint, green apple. The palate was more savory than the nose and showed great minerality. Zero flabbiness here.

Cheers.

  1. Thanks for your notes! I’ve been on the fence about 2018 vintage, but producer producer producer esp. in burgundy comes through again.
