A real testament to 2010 Brunello and the elegance of Le Ragnaie. Opened and immediately decanted. Light garnet with caramel colored bricking. Nose is mostly closed off at first but has dried cherry, faint dried herbal notes. Opens on the palate with dried black cherry, dried herbs and baking spices, soft sandalwood, faint eucalyptus. At two and a half hours this opened up with aromas of violet, fresh red fruit, orange peel and tobacco. The palate and tannins keep building with air as well, this picks up a lot of fresh cherry and red plum, and a lot of fresh minerality on the incredibly long finish. This is very primary, the tannins feel like they’ve barely budged since this was a young wine, and this has very high acidity so there’s a lot of life ahead of these.

Solid producer! I recently had their 2013 vintage of the Le Ragnaie. Fantastic wine.
