The Martini is a classic cocktail template and is basically the Starbucks of the cocktail world in that everyone has their preferred order. Here I talk about the language of the Martini (dry, dirty, etc) and make three of my favorite recipes.

Plymouth isnt a London Dry Gin…, good vid nonetheless
Wreck it Ralph???!!!?!?!
Dirty Martini extra Olives
You just like the nick and nora cup and use any excuse to use it everytime🤣
Remy is that you?
I'm imagining someone making up a version called "An Olive Jar" where you fill the largest glass you got with olives, then top off with a dirty Vodka Martini.
I don't like drinking a martini without a martini glass
James Bond disagrees
3rd 🍸is the real one 👌🏻
“A very dry, arrid, barren, desiccated, veritable dustbowel of a martini. I want a martini that could be declared a disaster area.” Captain Benjamin Franklin Pierce AKA Hawkeye, M*A*S*H
Dry vermouth still has sweetness to it. You mentioned this later but at the beginning of the video there seemed to be an implication that dry vermouth was not sweet at all. And while many martini glasses are way too big, you could just get a smaller martini glass, as they do exist. Good spirit choices though and technique though.
Its kind of funny that you make a martini "wet" with more "dry" vermouth
Martini SHAKEN not Stirred

Vodka is a waste of my time. I like a dirty gin martini, but I think I'll try the one with the lemon twist. Sounds lovely. Thanks.
If i'm correct Plymouth counts as it's own category of gin.
Plymouth Gin is not a London Dry Gin. In fact, it is frequently cited as a more sweet contrast to a London Dry Gin.
well we know that nick doesn’t shave because of his beard but also how he pulled out the razor blade and then put it on the handle. lol just messing with ya nick.
Has anyone every told you that you lool remarkably similar to Dónal Sharpson from The Try Channel? You two could be brothers 😅
Plymouth….YES!!!!!!!
Shaken. Not stirred. Haven't you learned anything from Mr. Bond?
Plymouth gin is NOT a London dry!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video 👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you for the info
Gin martini recipe was phenomenal! Thx!
Vodka is not a Martini. You might have a delicious drink, but it ain't a Martini.
30ml of vermouth?! 😷
Having learned to make a Martini from the internet (an ever trustworthy source as we know), I have tested a few vermouths to try, and I have only one question:
Where is the Noilly Prat?
Martinis aren't the same without that, frankly.
There is no such thing as to much liquor in a martini 🍸 glass.
Get a real life
Is it only me that wants to try some onion martini now? I know it is weird, but now my brain is like: "gimme that"
Great tutorial! And nice suggestion in the “Nick&Nora” glass. I used a Vitorre vermouth form Spain and it has some wonderful apple after notes
This was a highly highly professional style video! Azeo and Dolin was a perfect choice for the Vodka Martini, especially with the 'dirty touch'. For our Classic Dry Martini video we used Monkey 47 which is so beautifully complex!
I thought olive should be served in odd numbers. Or am i wrong?
To each his own on the Martini. Devildoc declares someone will arrive to show you how to make it differently. So true. To my taste, you used much too much vermouth. I love gin, but cannot stand the stuff straight. You need enough vermouth to turn off the fire. Along with just enough melting of the ice to both stretch the drink but never, ever dilute the flavors. Favorite gin: Tanqueray 10. #2 Plymouth (which has become much too expensive!) #3 Hendricks. Vermouth, there are only 4: Noily Prat, #2 Noily Prat, #3 Noily Prat, #4 (in a bind) Dolin. Orange bitters are fantastic. Try making your own Lavender bitters. 1 TBS dried lavender, steeped in 2-3oz heated (microwaves) vodka over 3-4 days. Add 2-3 drops, and watch the magic happen. Okay: 3oz/90ml gin. ¼ oz/2tsp/10ml Vermouth. 2 drops of bitters. (2 drops of rose water is optional, orange water doesn't work), lemon twist, onion or olive (giant castelvetrano green, preferably stuffed with blue cheese.) Shake over shaved ice, you have ruined your drink, dump it down the sink and start over. 3-4 minutes stirred over very icy ice cubes total. If you are making 2 to share with someone, a chaser of 50mg of viagra will be beneficial taken just before you get to the olive.
Alton Brown turned me on to the Nick and Nora as a better glass.
That first recipe yields a pretty tasty martini (Alas, I only had sweet vermouth; still, damn good).
THATS IT!
3:43 that is simply not the case.
vodka has to be made from stuff that grows underground.
if it's made from grain, it's not vodka, it's korn.
if it's made from fruit, it's not vodka, it's obstler.
IMHO that is not a proper martini glass and too much vermouth for my taste. Good video anyway.
Never trust a bartender who is afraid to show his face.
so when he says the garnish will "evolve the flavor over time", I'm a bit confused. Martinis don't have an "over time"… am I missing something?
Anchovie stuffed olives and a little brine, please.
I have tried a sweet martini like that, delicious too. Most enjoyable and interesting! These look too too appetising to me.. 🍹😇🤬🍹👍🌟
