It’s still a burger if you use sliced bread right? (Moose Burger)
Moose with a bit of ground bacon to up the fat ratio. I believe in using both cheddar and American cheese.. it’s a symphony.

Ground meat patties predate the hamburger bun by more than 1000 years, and some form of bread would have invariably accompanied them as a staple. Go nuts.

That’s known as a melt but I’d certainly still grant it the title of burger.

I grew up poor, ground beef on white bread is as much a burger as it is on the finest brioche bun.

Moose? How does it taste?

Nope, now you have a sandwich.

Yes it is a burger. In response to others in this thread:
1. It’s too thick of a patty to be a patty melt. Also, most patty melts have no lettuce or tomato
2. The bun *alone* does not dictate whether it is a burger. I know non-Americans disagree with this and think anything on a burger bun is a burger (see chicken “burger”) but they’re wrong.
Why? because America created the *modern-day* burger and thus our lingo dictates the treatment.
If OP’s dish were served in any diner or restaurant in the US it would have the word “burger” in the name. It might be “burger on toast”, but it would still be a burger

Honestly grocer store buns are so routinely bad, in just about every brand I’ve tried, I find a perfectly ordinary pair of white toast to be better for homemade burgers.
If you can find a good bakery thenyou’re in luck.

Moose burger? Fuck that sounds good. How’s the flavor compared to beef?
Cynamn63
Hell yes…..makes a better burger…..not so much bread like buns.

Sliced bread, hoagie roll, even a bagel it’s still a burger.
As long as it is between too pieces of food and can be hand held it is a burger.
Tortillas and on a stick are grey areas.

Man that looks hella delicious!
