The other poster did In n Out dirty by posting a picture after what looks like at least an hour on a paper plate, so I decided to post my go-to: a double double and cheese fries. Don't knock the fries til you try them with cheese!

Genuinely curious – how does this cheese taste? Nacho cheese has some negative points in my brain, but I’ve never done it on fries. I’m also very firm on “well done fries” when I dine, can’t stand topped fries any other way. Need the crunch.

You can improve the fries by ordering them “well”. It’s not night and day but it’s an improvement. Get them well done animal style and add salt and pepper and they’re fine.

This is the first time I’ve seen the cheese on the fries look somewhat gooey and not congealed. They still can’t save those terrible fries though. I don’t care what you throw on them and how they’re cooked

I’ve eaten In n Out 50x, always animal style fries, and I’ve never seen my cheese that melty. It’s always just a semi melted piece of american cheese. Still tastes delicious though.
