I've seen some people saying to cut bottom leaves off. Does it need to be done?

It only NEEDS to be done if they’re drooping low enough where they’re touching the soil, and thereby absorbing water and possibly causing fungus/mold issues. As long as they’re safely off the ground, though, it’s not necessary.
