Served with Dixy Chicken and a terrible Liam Neeson film.

Disgorged September 2020, 52% PN 48% Chardonnay. ~8 years on the lees and 3½ in the bottle. 100% Grand and Premier Cru: Verzenay, Aÿ, Bouzy, Mareuil sur Aÿ, Verzy, Avize, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Trépail.
    Dosage: 7g/L

Lovely nose like lemon meringue pie, evolved into something similar to a poitín I have (kinda like grain, rather than massively alcoholic) after this opened up to be like peaches and apricots.

A reductive, acid-driven style, rather than my preferred rich oxidative style, but it cut nicely through the grease of the chicken and chips and had a really seductive nose that kept me wanting to go back and sniff it again and again.

£44, Sainsbury’s. Definitely a step up from their own-brand blanc des noirs (which I normally buy for minor celebrations), which you’d hope given that it’s about twice the price. Birthday girl liked it too, so that’s a bonus!

Spunds good! Never seen this around, usually only find the „normal“ Lanson
