I bake some but I’m not good at piping and me, who I feel like has a normal amount of knowledge about piping thinks it looks beautiful! Idk if this is exactly the advice you were looking for but it is extremely nice.

Do you have some darker blue sanding sugar? Maybe cover the tops in some of that, and they’ll never know! 🙂 Those Oreo cupcakes look amazing, btw! Yum!!

The blue looks like it may have split a little or gotten too warm? but as long as the texture and taste are there, I think it’s okay to leave as is! If it’s just the visual that will drive you nuts, I get it, and do what will make you most happy (and if you have enough butter on hand!).
I think the effort you put in plus how delicious they are will make them a hit no matter what

His folks will be excited to get cupcakes. They won’t care about how they look. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind if this was just the “practice run” and you made them more in the future.

Every time I have brought in baked goods that I thought weren’t my best I could do for my team of maintenance guys and engineers, they’ve appreciated and inhaled them. They’ll love them! I think they’re super cute.

I think they look tasty. I’m kinda a cupcake monster, though. My hubby bring his work sweets we make together and even if they aren’t perfect. All his coworkers love it. Looks like you went to a lot of trouble and put in lots of care. In the end, do what makes you happy. Remake or not.

I sent a cake to the job site that I was ashamed of, for some reason the cake split! AND the frosting would NOT firm up. Cake was a mess.

These are homemade cupcakes with actual piped icing, not a jar of frosting added with a butter knife. That alone is amazing for work treats.
Could they be better, yeah probably. They aren’t perfection down to the exact mm. However you are comparing yourself to fucking professional chefs and people with thousands of hours of practice. You are doing better then some local businesses here. No one is going to complain about this. This is the equivalent of getting a 98% on a test everyone else can get 20-40% on. Even the other bakers will be impressed.
