hey everybody and welcome back to my
kitchen where Carla is cooking today we
are stuffing Peppers Guys these peppers
were calling my name at the store today
and I had to bring them home they are
big and beautiful and we are going to
stuff them so let’s get started audio
jungle all right guys so we’re going to
stop these peppers I get so excited
about this meal for two reasons number
one this pepper really PS a lot of
flavor uh and it Cooks in really good
time I I’m going to show you a little
tip and trick on how I actually piece
this meal together um so I know Peppers
you could do them a million different
ways well I do some sort of rice and
then I do a meat so today we’re going to
do a very lean ground turkey uh all of
my ingredients are from Trader Joe so
it’s a One-Stop shop how easy is that so
again you could use anything guys you
could use ground chicken ground turkey
ground beef ground pork if you wanted to
whatever you want um but I went with the
lean ground turkey and of course rice
right you can do rice and I do love our
boxed rice from Trader Joe’s it comes in
a three-pack but today I’m going to do a
fakeout we’re going to do the
cauliflower rice stir fry and so it’s
got uh corn and uh green onion and peas
and a little bit of red bell pepper um
and I just love it it’s a great little
veggie filler so I’ve got my lean turkey
I’ve got my stir fry and um we’re going
to do it that way we’re going to top it
with some sauce and cheese so here we go
all right guys um I get inspired for my
meals when I see beautiful produce at
the store and so that was the case um
these Peppers came in a three pack well
they don’t say Carla on them but you
know I set them aside they were so
beautiful that I put my name on them and
set them in the cooler but anyways this
is our trol organic pepper so you’re
want going to want to get those and man
did they look good so what I do is I’m
just going to cut the tops off of the
peppers just like that guys I save the
tops I kind of clean them up and
everything but I save the tops cuz
sometimes I want to do a little pepper
and onion in my in my uh scrambled eggs
you know or I want to do pepper and
onion on a brat worst or whatever you
know or throw some peppers in a salad so
you can really get a lot of pepper out
of that so we are going to save these so
I’ve got a red I’ve got a yellow and
I’ve got an
orange uh rarely do I use green peppers
anymore I grew up on green peppers but
my digestive system doesn’t really love
green peppers so I love to use the
colored ones so we’re going to set these
aside and I can use them for a salad a
stir fry whatever all right we’re just
going to clean the inside I’ve got a
little garbage Bowl here um oh and I
should tell you I already Rin my Peppers
so I took them out of the package I got
them all nice and rinsed up for us so
they’re clean and then I just take the
seeds out and then just a little bit of
those ribs in there I can go ahead and
get that out okay really nice and then
same thing for this guy right we’re just
going to clean these guys up so my mom
makes a really great pepper that’s one
of the meals in her
wheelhouse um but then I decided I I was
over one day and she was making peppers
and the peppers were taking like an hour
or something to cook because she would
put it all in kind of raw and then put
everything in the oven and I just
decided you know what I think I’ve got a
quicker cooking method that I’d like to
try on that and so I did and I’ve been
doing it for years ever ever since so
we’re going to get to that all right
we’ve got all that cleaned out we’ve got
our Peppers washed up cleaned out we’re
going to use a little dish like this
I’ve got a little bit of
water to put at the bottom of the pan
IED a small little pan and I’m just
going to wedge them all in just like
this these are really ginormous Peppers
okay so this um dish is going to hold n
three nice big Peppers then what I’m
going to do is I’m going to take some
some wrap here and I’m going to cover
these guys
up now I like to cook all the components
of the pepper and then assemble the
pepper and then it’s ready to eat watch
how fast you guys oh before we go any

going to go ahead and put them in the
microwave microwave those for about 7
minutes they’re pretty big Peppers guys
so I’m going to go kind of full on with
the 7 minutes we can always check last
couple minutes or so all right next
thing we’ve got our pan here waiting for
us because we’ve got to cook up our um
The Filling right so let’s go ahead and
get this ground turkey in here let’s get
the pan on first of all that always
helps right get that pan nice and
hot this is just one pound ground beef
gang okay I mean not ground beef oh my
gosh I have used ground beef plenty of
times but again today I’m using ground
turkey you can use ground chicken you
can use any meat you’d like and guys you
don’t even have to use meat you could go
a fullon veg pepper and some sometimes I
do do that um I’ll just kind of chop up
some extra veggies and use my rice stir
stir uh cauliflower rice stir fry that’s
a mouthful to say isn’t it all right
we’re just going to let that guy work
okay we’re going to set him aside cuz
I’m going to add him after but let’s go
ahead and season this up ground turkey
gets a bad wrap sometimes or maybe
rightfully so it can be a little dry it
can be a little tast tasteless right um
so let’s go ahead and uh season the sky
out I’ve got some
salt and I’ve got some
pepper all right guys so we’ve got the
ground turkey um Browning in the pan I
added salt and pepper but you know what
I want to add a few more seasonings to
this all right I’m going to get my
Italian blend uh Trader Joe’s we really
need an Italian blend um so this is not
from Trader Joe’s cuz we don’t carry it
um so I’m going to add a a little bit of
Italian uh seasoning basil parsley
garlic and then I’m going to use just a
handful of uh crushed red pepper cuz I
don’t mind a little
heat in these all right
great so we’ve got the peppers going
we’ve got the ground turkey cooking away
here
you’re going to see how easy this is you
know what I love about ground
turkey it’s just it’s lean there’s way
less fat I’m not even going to have to
drain this guys there’s literally no fat
in there so if you’re looking for
something low carb if you’re looking for
something low fat but you’re looking for
a meal that’s very filling and very
flavorful this is it guys I’m telling
you um um I just kind of did a little
twist off of my mom’s
Peppers all
right and we’re just going to let that
go all right guys this ground turkey is
almost uh all cooked up here okay but
we’re going to want to add some more
flavor so we’re going to keep building
to the mixture I’ve got a couple things
that’s going to help us out I’ve got a
very basic Trader Joe tomato um tomato
basil marinara sauce it’s literally
under $2 guys I don’t know anywhere that
sells pasta sauce for an $2 anymore it’s
very basic um we’ve got plenty of other
sauces that I love but this is what I
had in my fridge so this is what we’re
going to use so I like to add a little
sauce to this
mixture right off the bat I just guess
guys I eyeballed it I eyeball it if you
like a little Saucier add more if you
want a little drier add less I’m going
to add some grated Parmesan cheese I’m
not using the fancy cheese today I’m
going really really simple here and
that’s why I keep this guy on hand I’m
just going to
liberally get the a lot of cheese in
there cuz again we want some good flavor
in this and you know I’ll admit ground
turkey can be a little dry um whoops get
back in
there all right and I heard the
microwave beep guys so our
Peppers got to check on that all right
so we’ve got that just kind of all ComEd
let’s check on these
Peppers ooh they feel I think they’re
pretty
good let’s go ahead and test it out got
to watch the Steam on this okay cuz that
will
really give you a facial that you don’t
want and they feel
beautiful
so let me show them to
you these are beautiful
Peppers okay they are cooked to the way
I like them so I don’t want a hard
pepper I don’t really want to Crunch on
my pepper but I also don’t want it soggy
and mushy so if you like a little firmer
pepper then by all means keep it a
little firmer um all right now this is
where it gets just a little tricky so
you’re going to want to grab a uh a
towel okay a clean towel and we’re just
going to got a little bit of water in
there all right so you’re just going to
kind of dump that water out I’m going to
set that guy there and grab the next
pepper and dump that water out just a
little bit okay it’s just some moisture
from the pepper it’s no big deal all
right but you don’t want a watery pepper
and remember that
water um sometimes it completely
evaporates sometimes it doesn’t so we
got rid of the water that steamed the
peppers now we have a dry
dish we’re going to get these peppers
back
in all right perfect now they are ready
for us okay now I always go ahead and
salt my P my Peppers just a little bit
of salt right there we’re good all right
now well let’s lower the heat on this
guy because this the meat is done but
remember we got to get that cauliflower
in there if you were going to do Rice um
listen I don’t know who is still making
rice R from scratch out there but not me
I do not stand and stir and make rice I
don’t own a pressure cooker I don’t do
any of that I get the microwavable rice
from Trader Joe’s 3 minutes in a little
bag it comes in a box we got many
varieties ask ask your uh crew member
and they’ll tell you about it um but
today remember we’re using the
cauliflower rice so what I’m going to do
is I’m just going to well where my
scissors they’re there I’m going to cut
this
open and I’m going to do about a nice
cup of this okay I’m going to throw it
in Frozen throw it in
Frozen just like
that okay so I’ve got about a
cup of the Frozen rice right in there
okay we’re going to give this a nice
stir guys a nice
stir

betiful
and we’re just going to let
that cook okay you could have put it in
a bowl and microwaved it but the peppers
were on the microwave and I don’t like
to use a bowl and a pan for everything
right I don’t want to do all those
dishes so it Cooks just fine in here now
I’ve got my oven preheated to 350
because we are going to bake these guys
for just about 10 minutes and I want to
broil them so I can get the cheese that
we’re going to put on top all nice and
bubbly
all right we’re going to raise the heat
a little bit and we’re going to let that
mixture get all nice and cooked up for
us all right guys this mixture is
looking all nice and cooked up I’m going
to go ahead and turn the gas off okay uh
remember it’s going to go in the oven
for about 10 minutes so if there’s any
cooking time that has to be had it’s
going to be in there um and actually
guys it may not even take 10 minutes
because all the components are cooked
right so it’s really just to keep keep
it heated and booil my cheese so not
even 10 minutes all right let’s give
this mixture a taste cuz once it goes in
there it forever hold your piece right
so let’s make sure our mixture is
seasoned the way we like
it and you know
what I’m just going to add a little bit
more cheese honestly a little cheese and
a little more salt and that’s why you
got to taste your food guys you got to
taste it while you’re making it all
right pretty sure that’ll do it all
right beautiful so now now we’re going
to go ahead and stuff these guys okay
they’re still kind of hot so I’m
literally just stuffing them guys look
how
easy this is a really nice meal that you
could do if you had a bunch of people
over you know why I say that let’s say
you had six or eight people
over you could have all of this done and
sitting in the oven waiting for you all
you’d have to do was at the last minute
throw some cheese over I’m going to show
you how we’re going to do that that is
the highlight of the
pepper um but yeah so you could totally
uh do that have it all ready and then
all you’d have to do um is just throw
the cheese on last minute get it all
beautiful and broiled
up and uh serf it and then it’s like
it’s such an easy serve right like
everyone gets a pepper you can have a
side
salad it’s just a cool little kind of
like a retro meal I don’t know I grew up
with this meal so kind of takes me back
it reminds me of like a little retro
meal you
know all right so that’s we’re good on
that
fantastic I’m going to show you these
all right now again very basic we’ve
just stopped them how beautiful do those
look though you guys really nice right
yes so nice Okay now we are going to do
um a couple things well actually we’re
just going to take our Jarred sauce
again cuz I always like to just hit
this I leave just a really little space
on top like a like a little bowl you
know like a almost like a little like
soup bowl and it’s like I’m just adding
a little
bit right in there beautiful
now you could go both ways with this you
could do a shredded mozzarella I have
done that plenty but my new thing that I
love is I’ll take sliced
mozzarella and
watch
literally just place the
mozzarella right on
top if you have some major cheese lovers
in your family family you could go ahead
and add two pieces of cheese you could
do provalone you could do uh maybe even
some Greer I mean I don’t know you could
do you could do whatever cheese you like
um I would just go with a white cheese
all
right there we are you ready they’re
going in
here I know I kept saying 10 minutes but
it’s not even 10 minutes guys
everything’s cooked that’s all right
guys I put the peppers in there just for
about 5 minutes
just to get the cheese slightly melty
but now I raised the rack and I’ve got
the Peppers Under broil so you know it’s
like the broiling game right it’s like
you can’t take your eyes off of it or
you burn it so we’re going to let those
go for just a few minutes and wait to
see how beautiful all right guys it’s
time to get these Peppers out of the
oven how long did they take guys not
long
right all right oh gosh do those look
good
wa those are going to be so good look
how beautiful they bridled up guys look
at that we’ve got these amazing Peppers
that cooked in I don’t know 15 minutes
20 tops so so beautiful and now I’m
going to dig into those all right you
guys we are going to cut into one of
these Peppers I’m so excited I really
love this meal I’m just telling you it’s
just a nice protein meal I’m going to go
with red it’s been a big big week here
for red so we’re going to go with the
red
pepper all right wow does that look good
look at the cheese
oozing how good does that look right all
right let’s cut into this guy so I like
to just cut it right down the middle you
know sometimes they get a little messy
but that’s okay it’s a pepper and then I
can kind wa look at
that all of that goodness Che cheese
meat fake out rice right all
right guys I love this
meal it never disappoints now I got to
put the dish down cuz we got to get the
pepper right let’s get that there let’s
do that there all right let’s get into
this pepper now remember we we’ve also
got some sauce over
here if we wanted to do some Reserve
sauce you could
absolutely have it waiting for you
heated in a
microwave

again I cooked the
pepper perfectly to my liking cook the
pepper to how you like it you like it a
little crunch crunchier don’t do seven
minutes in the microwave mind you these
were big Peppers guys I mean how long
did this take us guys
right meat cheese
pepper 7 minutes so
good
first try this out this meal is
Affordable it’s healthful you can do it
a million different
ways and it is so darn
flavorful and guys I’ll see you back in
