Hi! I followed Claire saffitz’s recipe and even brought my dough out with me to a birthday to do the folds. Dedication! 😅 I have two loaves, one was a gift so I don’t have the inside. But here! Any tips for the future?? Hard for me to tell if my starter was ready, but overall I’m pretty pleased.

Wowww!!! First attempt? Wait and you GIFTED one?! Haha I am still stressed when I gift. The recipe I like to loosely follow adds the salt *after* the autolyse and I have forgotten to add it at all twice now. It is …not good. Now when I plan to give a loaf away I try so hard and ask my husband to babysit me so I don’t forget. Or just put the salt on top and figure it doesn’t hold back the autolysis as much, then mix it all together when I knead.

Anyway that being said I would have never gifted my first loaf. You are brave and these are real impressive and I’m sure both so delicious!!

You’re a natural! Get ready to gift loaves for your friends, of course.

Looks a beauty! Astonishing for a first loaf, would be happy for a 50th loaf!
