okay welcome to the woodworks today is a
special day um because i’m gonna make
blueberry muffins but they’re jordan
marsh blueberry muffins it’s the recipe
jordan marsh is a store used to be a
store that was in boston and my mother
used to work
right in the area at philene’s basement
and she just worked there to get the
discount for clothing it was the one
kind of bakery she would go to and buy
these blueberry muffins and they were
kind of legendary
growing up in the wood house the jordan
marsh blueberry muffins were the best
and probably why my mother really didn’t
make blueberry muffins because she said
these were better than hers so
um
that’s what we’re going to do today my
mother loved these muffins and hopefully
i
do this recipe justice
[Music]
let me run down the list of ingredients
it’s half a cup of butter or one stick
two cups unsifted flour which makes me
sad because i like to sift but
not gonna do it
one cup of sugar two large eggs half a
cup of milk
two teaspoons baking powder
half a teaspoon salt two and a half cups
of large fresh blueberries
um but you’re gonna wanna mash up half a
cup one and a half teaspoons vanilla
extract and two tablespoons of sugar
extra to put on top of the muffins
before you put them in the oven and i
like to use um
the raw cane sugar
preheat your oven to 375. um
and let’s get started the first thing
we’re gonna do is cream the butter and
the sugar and then i’m just gonna
combine and whisk all the dry
ingredients
okay that’s done all the dry ingredients
into a separate bowl
[Music]
got the two cups of flour
baking powder
and the salt
just gonna whisk that
set it to the side
[Music]
okay gonna add
two eggs
[Music]
i’m gonna combine that slowly
now i’m gonna add half the dry
ingredients
[Music]
with the vanilla
and the milk
[Music]
[Music]
now the rest of the dry ingredients
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
okay so that’s basically the batter
i’m just gonna scrape down the paddle
and then i’m gonna add the mashed
blueberries first
just gently incorporate them
and then
add the whole blueberries bite you know
just with the spatula
because you don’t want to mix them up
and
you know
kind of wreck the blueberries you could
like have a bunch of
not whole blueberries when you get to
the end of it
[Music]
nice let’s let me get another spatula
let me get my
my little one
[Music]
[Music]
and then we’re gonna add the rest of the
blueberries
[Music]
i think that’s good what do you think
chance that’s good
with the blueberries
so that’s all done
now i’m just gonna take my ice cream
scoop
and scoop um
probably
just like a whole scoop
into each
muffin
little paper thing here i don’t even
know what you call these anyone know
what these are called
muffin liners
i don’t know
yeah so kind of just like a whole scoop
for every
muffin
and this is just a regular
size ice cream scoop
i guess
and i’m gonna check these first few i
might have put a little not enough in
there so we’ll see
but this is the easiest way to do it
because once you you know press the
little button there
it just drops right down into the
muffin
liner
muffin liner all right
okay
and we don’t want to forget to sprinkle
the sugar over the top of them but i
think this is good we’re one
short of 12 which
that’s fine
now i’m gonna take my
raw cane sugar sprinkle that on the top
of each one
a decent amount because
i mean you want it to be kind of
noticeable on there
very excited jordan marsh blueberry
muffins
going in the oven they’re going to go in
for
a 375
for 25 to 30 minutes
so here we go
exciting
and
gonna set it
for 25.
there we go be back in 25 minutes
[Music]
[Music]
okay the jordan marsh blueberry muffins
are done gonna get them out the oven
they look fantastic
wow
look pretty professional
i’m gonna let them cool a little bit and
give them a taste
okay jordan marsh muffins done blueberry
muffins uh gonna give it a try they look
moist and
full of blueberries
oh yes i mean i break it open
i mean
look at that it’s just
perfect
wow
oh man
they are so good
very helpful
that the blueberries
are very fresh
thanks to uh andy and elena they brought
the blueberries uh this morning
they didn’t go pick them themselves but
they brought them
um it’s just fantastic man it’s easy
recipe
um moist
not
dry at all
they’re fantastic
blueberry muffins jordan marsh style
straight out of boston
try it at home with your kids they’re
[Music]
let me fantastic you how
the wood works
and the blueberries oh set it off
so good
hey that’s it because i’ll eat the whole
thing

  5. I worked at Filene's in Boston and I would go across the street to Jordan Marsh to get the muffins!! My first job at 16 was at Jordan Marsh in Natick at the Natick mall..good memories

  6. Just made these with my daughter. They didn’t rise 😢 now looking back at the video they needed baking powder. I had a feeling!!! Your written recipe doesn’t mention the baking powder or baking soda. They’re cooling off now I’m sure they’ll taste good anyway! 😉
