Novice in wine, how do I drink this? Apparently you’re supposed to air it when you open it? What should I have it with? Is there a risk that the cork will crumble when opening it? I have no idea how to store it.

With this much age you dont need to air it at all, you can however pour it into a decanter or any neutral container to remove sediment as the grittiness might make the last 2 glasses much less enjoyable

How do you drink it? Hopefully with your mouth!

You’re supposed to air it? It will aerate in the glass and there’s no need to aggressively decant this.

What should I have with it? Braised beef is a classic pairing.

Will the cork crumble? Probably. Google Ah-So and buy one, they’re inexpensive and built for this.

This will have sediment due to the age and high tannins. Go on YouTube and google “decanting for sediment” and give it a go!

From a glass preferably but straight from the bottle works too

Unlike other grapes, an aged Nebbiolo may benefit from a decant

Pop the cork, insert crazy straw, sip and enjoy

  7. Decant it off of the sediment for sure. You can YouTube a video on how to do that. Just be sure give yourself a few hours of the bottle standing upright to let the sediment fall to the bottom of the bottle before opening.

No need to let decant for extended amount of time. 30 minutes should be good enough and if it still feels little buttoned up, then give it a few swirls in the decanter.

    Enjoy!
