I am looking to invest in a decent pellet smoker. Trying to decide between the GMG PEAK PRIME 2.0 and the RecTeq FLAGSHIP 1100. Looking for an all around piece of equipment that can do everything from smoking to get a good sear.

I also am in the market for a natural gas grill as the house I bought has a gas line just for a grill. Looking at this model. I was wondering if either the recteq and or gmg would be able to replace the need for this all together?

I purchased a flagship and it’s amazing. Highly recommend it.

GMG owner here for well over a decade, I wouldn’t buy a new GMG. Still love my old DB though.

  3. If you have a pellet grill and a kettle, there is no need for a gas grill.

I really like my GMG Prime DB but I will probably consider something different next go around. That said, my GMG has never let me down. The only gripes I have is the tedious WiFi set up and that the heat deflectors, while heavy, still can get hot and cause the bottom of meats to overcook on longer cooks above 250*. If you’re trying to do a faster brisket at like 275*, I would recommend lifting a little higher off the grates.
