Is this a pole bean? Try topping it 6″ below the top of the trellis. Hopefully you can get it to bush out horizontally

Id top about 6” below the trellis and re train into the trellis.

Just let it wind around where ever. It’s going to go where it wants to go anyway. Winter squash are worse. Those things you can see them growing after a rain. … I mean like moving while you are watching it… with no wind. I just try to herd them into an area where I ‘m not cutting with the mower and let do it’s thing.

Attach a taller bamboo pole to the trellis with twine or zip ties.
