Although this may be a bit obscure and not quite as compelling as some of the amazing wine folks post here on the daily, it was a treat for me to be able to taste such an interesting and wonderful wine at an event I recently attended that I thought I might post some tasting notes in case anyone was interested. Raymond Trollat, who retired in 2005 and sold some of his vines to the Gonon Brothers, sadly passed away in 2023 and left behind quite a legacy along with a lineup of delicious wine. Many would say that he helped to put St Joseph on the map with his beautifully crafted wine. This particular bottle was no exception. It was surprisingly youthful with stewed red berries and an interesting light to medium body, medium acidity, and some funky caramel on the nose. I highly recommend heading down to your local Costco or Total Wine and picking up a case or two of this lovely wine.
