Had the pleasure to share this bottle with a dear friend I hadn’t seen in many years on a trip back home. Funny that it’s the bottles you expect less of sometimes that surprise you the most.
Brought it to a very well regarded Portuguese restaurant in Rio and couldn’t ask for a better pairing in all fairness.
Notes: definitely picked up honey on the nose which was what marked my memory on this wine the most but it came together with some peach and the mouth merged into a more mineral flavour that felt fresh and well balanced with all that was going on in the glass.
I really appreciated exploring this one, but it’s funny because I had just cracked a bad bottle of their 2000 Rot which I had great expectations about and left me disappointed.
Not sure how vintage variations are for their Blanc but I hope it’s not as crazy because I’d love to try other years from this appellation.
First time I felt honey on a white and I can’t forget about it, amazing wine for its price.
I’m accepting similar wine or vintage recommendations!

Its Musar, vintage variation is a hallmark
Tasted the 2010 a couple years ago with Marc Hochar and it was quite dark then just a few months ago tasted the 1975 and it was almost as pale as this
