I had my original Classic 1 for 6 years before anything broke. Now for the third season in a row, I am finding a cracked base after the first spring cook. This is making it extremely hard to love my KJ or recommend it anymore. Thank goodness for the warranty!

    Could water have entered the grill though winter? If so, could the water freeze during the time it wasn’t used?

    When you started the first fire of the season, could the bottom have residue humidity?

    Did you start the fire with a strong and hot blaze?

    I’m no expert in wet kamados or cold weather, so I might be completely off.
