It's a Thai Chili plant, about 5 years old. It's lived indoors apart from last summer (we are in the PNW), when I introduced it to the outside for a couple of months.

When I brought it back in, after harvesting all of the chilies last year, I wanted to trim it down because it had never been, and was growing like a big tree. I did my best with what I could extrapolate from trimming advice that was exclusively relevant to younger plants.

I think I killed it, though. I'm not sure. It turned brown/wooden within a month. It's gotten warmer outside, so I am taking it outside to see if anything happens.
