A friend of mine gave me this rub. I don't make brisket. Could I season a steak with this rub and then sear it in a cast-iron skillet? What other uses are there for this? Thank you!

Just because it says brisket doesn’t mean you can’t use it for anything else. It should be killer on anything grilled or seared. Looks like large chunks of garlic, pepper, and salt. So it should be a near universal grill/sear seasoning for meat and vegetables.

Throw it on a pork chop and grill or sear it in your cast iron pan. See how it does. That will tell you more than we could. Unless there are people with significant experience using this particular rub.
