My month old Konnected Joe fan would not turn on after a few weeks worth of normal use. Mostly low and slow smoking of ribs and shoulders.
I saw on here that other people had issues with a melted fan. Contacted Kamado Joe for service and after three days of back-and-forth via email, they shipped me a new rear module that includes the fan.
Installation took a total of about five minutes. Very simple install. Took apart the old defunct module, and noticed that the fan was also melted like other posters indicate.
As a result, I would have to echo other people in cautioning the purchase of a Konnected Joe. I had no problem using this grill while the fan was out of commission with the AFS and manual control of the vents. I found it to be really fun actually.
However, I believe the design of disconnected Joe fan module is flawed. Until Kamado Joe corrects the design issue, there’s no reason to pay extra for the fan. AFS is super convenient but still not worth the price of admission.
Still love my Joe and the accessories. Still love cooking on it. Deeply disappointed by the design flaw.

Wow, not ideal. Thanks for sharing. I really thought about getting the Konnected so thanks for reaffirming my choice of a classic II. Glad you got it fixed
I also saw some of these posts, but I mostly see here raving reviews of the konnected. So I assume it’s some assembly fault or something that causes some of the units to get the fan melted.
And this is why it is a better idea to buy the regular KJ and a separate 3rd party controller
Surprised the fan is plastic. Glad I went with the classic 3 and the fireboard drive. I dont expect the fireboard fan to last forever either but at least it’s a 50 dollar fix that doesn’t involve any tools. Should be simple to swap out
