Solid 9.1

It is seriously so deliciously rich. I think honey may be my new favourite ice cream flavour. This is made with real honey so it is very very sweet. (Like, need a glass of water after sweet.) the honeycomb pieces are soft and provide no texture to the ice cream. The main problem I have with this is the ice cream base. I’ve never had tilamook before so I don’t know if this is normal but it was almost a soft serve texture. Like, way softer than any other ice cream. I can’t stand soft serve due to the texture but the flavour made up for it.

I personally prefer Van Leeuwen Honeycomb (9.3) for three reasons:

-the texture of the base

-the crunchy toffee pieces provide a nice contrast to the ice cream

-balance of sweetness. I was only able to eat two scoops of Tilamook but I easily made it through half a pint of VL without noticing.

The only downside of the VL Honecomb vs the Tillamook is that the VL had NO HONEY! They state it clearly on the side as of it is some selling point but I just found it frustrating.
