Want a speedy midweek meal but craving a gorgeous, oozy, rich chicken pie? Ummm… yeah. That’s totally fine. ‘Cause this one takes just 25 minutes! There won’t be MUSH-ROOM left for dessert, but you won’t need one because this is a tummy pleaser extraordinaire! I honestly think this could be the best recipe I have ever made. It’s outrageous. I ATE ALL THE PIES.

welcome to Katy pics today we’re gonna serve ourselves a little hi chicken tarragon and mushroom prior to the exact no no you’re thinking Kate you all about the speedy recipes pie isn’t a speedy recipe but this one is and know what it’s absolutely delicious – first things first we’re gonna preheat our oven to 200 degrees and we’re gonna pop a hot proof dish on to our hob on a high heat now this will be enough for 2 to 3 people depending on how generous you’re feeling or greedy you know so that’s gonna go on a nice high heat and into that we’re gonna add in about a tablespoon of oil lovely and two chicken breasts which I’ve just diced up into nice thin strips and that’s gonna go in there as well or an immediate frazzle that you like from here now enjoy your chicken breasts we’re going to add a knob of butter and we’re going to season it up with some salt and pepper to that chicken filling is already starting to cook well then I add in some gorgeous tarragon which is really my favorite herbs absolutely delicious quite an aniseed flavor to it and some time as well and then that is gonna go into our pan as well gorgeous into that we’re going to add 2 finely sliced shallots and our mushrooms I’ve got a hundred grams of button mushrooms here which again I’m just very slight cut finely slice very finely sliced and that’s going into our pan as well give it a really good stir Wow you can smell that Halligan already it’s absolutely beautiful and you’re also getting a nice bit of color on the bottom of that pan too it’s just going to add beautifully to the flavor of it all okay now that’s a very nice pie filling but it’s not very saucy and I like me a saucy pine I’ve got here creme fraiche I’m going to add one nice heaped tablespoon straight into the pan I’m then going to add in a teaspoon of plain flour that’s gonna help us bind it and make that sauce back a little bit thicker as well I’m then gonna add in a pinch of cinnamon bear with me on this one it’s just lovely with its little sweetness it just picks up all of those flavors and then we’re gonna add in a teaspoon of Dijon mustard it’s gonna go in there as well with some liquid I’ve got some chicken stock here it’s all would have been pre-made of course you can buy this pre-made you can make it yourself or you can get yourself on those with the stock cubes sort yourself out a point easily I’m actually gonna add in about 120 mils but you basically want to add in enough until the consistency suits you we’re gonna drop the heat right down to low and what’s the pie without a lid so we’re going to use cheating this but we’re going to use shop-bought puff pastry which comes so simply and a lovely pre-made roll and I’m gonna roll out enough chop that off now if you have got excess pastry that is not a bad thing in fact I really like that about this recipe so we’re literally gonna take this we’re gonna plunk it on top please be careful as the pan will be hot and then you’re just going to let the sides of it drape in to your pie cause it adds a nice little I don’t look about it we’re then going to bleed it to make it look even more Moorish brushed that glaze over the top and it’s as simple as that people that is now gonna go into our preheated oven that has worked up to 200 degrees it gave me a little thing to say it was ready and it’s gonna go in there for about 20 minutes or until you can see that the puff pastry is gone gorgeously golden brown wait all the pie katydid because would have been delicious aren’t you gonna try it now though this has been in the oven for about 20 minutes I hear that fish with golden nurse hmm gonna be hotter than the Sun so good steam these flavors that takes you back to when you’re like nine and your grandma made your pie just my grandma got the scouts good so tasty so saucy and delicious I’m the tarragon in that Wow the fragrant flavor of that is phenomenal guys please give this recipe a go in fact I want to know what is your favorite pie filling please tell me in the comments box below let’s get that conversation rolling and if you tried this please don’t forget to share a picture of me on social media application on Twitter Instagram snapchat and all of the above until next time guys I’ve got a whole pie to eat and oh my goodness you

  1. chopping tarragon instead of ripping apart with hand doesn't turn it bitter?
Edit:favorite pie off course it's spinachpie with greek fillo pastry

  2. Hey Katie – The best pies ive ever tasted were in a place up the very north of Scotland called Lochinver. They have a famous pie shop there that ships them all over the UK. Theyre f*** amazing. Chorizo and chicken was a decent one but they did a venison and cranberry one too which was DYNAMITE.
    Great video again. Cheers! πŸ™‚
