This is the tofu version of your favorite chickpea-based falafel. This is made of ground tofu along with other ingredients used in making traditional falafel. This tofu patty or tofu patty burger is completely vegetarian. This is best dipped in hummus or if you want a simple dip with a kick, you can serve it with sweet chili sauce.

Tofu Falafel Ingredients:

3 cloves garlic
2 medium white onion
1/2 cup finely chopped parsley (4 sprigs)
1/3 cup finely chopped cilantro (or 1 tsp ground cilantro)
400g firm tofu
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp olive oil
200g (3.75 cups) breadcrumbs
4 tbsp tahini
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tbsp turmeric powder
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
3 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 cup (2oz) sesame seeds

Dipping Sauce:
1. sweet chili sauce
2. mayo and banana ketchup (equal proportion)
3. hummus

Garnish:
mint
tomato
onion
cucumber
lettuce
