Super basic, but I thought it looked neat, and was delicious

This looks to me like a delicious home-cooked meal where attention was paid to plating, and all of that is awesome and to be applauded.

The garnish is edible and goes with the flavor of the dish. The type and amount of the condiment complements the dish as well. The portion sizes of egg and polenta seem appropriate. You’ve got three bright colors on the plate (yellow yolk, green onions, and red sriracha), and the plate is of a style and material that suits the dish, and is comfortable to eat off. You’re doing much better with all of these things than a lot of dishes we’ve seen in this sub, even some by professional working cooks.

Is the plating a bit untidy and simple? Sure, but for a home meal, I feel that’s totally acceptable. Looks like someone made a great dinner and cared enough to make a good effort with the presentation.

I could see thin ribbons of scallion (how sometimes I know my Korean grandmother would do) could look a little neater if placed atop the egg? Or maybe longer rings sliced on a bias? I’m not a plating expert, just a thought

I think your polenta looks over thickened but I suppose that’s a personal preference thing.

Yummy I would eat that… the egg looks perfect, what’s your strategy? I either end up over cooking the yolk or having runny white parts which gives me the ick
