In our latest video, we delve into the essence of Turkish village life as my grandfather prepares a traditional dish of dolma using fresh ingredients harvested straight from our garden. We’re making a delightful assortment of stuffed eggplants, potatoes, peppers, and tomatoes—all cooked slowly in a clay pot on our wood stove, capturing the true essence of Turkish cuisine.
How We Made It:
We began by gathering the freshest vegetables—eggplants, potatoes, peppers, and tomatoes—from our garden. Each vegetable was carefully hollowed out and then filled with a savory mixture of rice, minced meat, oil, and a perfect blend of spices. Once stuffed, the vegetables were placed in a clay pot on our wood stove. To enhance the flavors, we poured a rich sauce made from tomato paste, butter, and oil over the dolma before letting them cook slowly to perfection. The result is a dish that embodies the rich, earthy flavors of our village garden.
In addition to cooking, this video also offers a glimpse into our daily village life. We care for our animals—ducklings, turkey chicks, goats, and chickens—showing the harmony between nature and rural living.

1st to leave a comment 😁 Love this video and that its longer then shorts that I like as well. Treasure the garden and the nature. I now live in Lisbon for 2 years and there is so little of greenery. I was wondering why I was feeling so strange and had hard time to adjust and it was also because of this reason. This city don't invest even into planting flowers or trees to the streets, compared to my country or other places Ive been to. I felt so disconnected many times and had to travel outside to the beach at least. Also I love that you're showing us the life in my beloved Turkey. Anytime I think about Turkey I am feeling happiness. I want to return again and again and visit more 💕
