It’s wild how many famous pizzerias trace their roots to this building.

Well, oldest in the sense that Lombardi’s was the first in NYC, closed in 1984, and then the founder’s grandson opened another restaurant called Lombardi’s a block away 10 years later.

I’m heading to New York in December. What is the best pizza joint considered to be ?
Last time I went I visited Juliana’s over Brooklyn bridge which really enjoyed.

I have had it recently. It’s certainly not what it used to be 10 yrs ago. Too touristy and they keep raising prices for no reason.

I don’t get the hype.
I’ve only been twice. But each time it was dry, crackery, and became pasty when chewed. The cheese bites more like cottage cheese than any mozzarella. Sauce had neither the bright punch of an uncooked sauce, nor the depth of a cooked sauce.
New York has any number of much better pies.

I visited Lombardi’s years ago. I was amazed how fast the pie came out after ordering it.
We ordered our pepperoni pizza and drinks. Waitress came back with our drinks about 3-4 min later walked away, and came back about 3-4 minutes later with our piping hot pie.
Impressive and delicious😊👍🏼

I had a good pizza at Lombardi’s around 2004 but that was about the last time.
