I bought this treagar brand new from
Home Depot in May of this year. I normally cook low & slow but this weekend I turned the grill up to 375 to speed up my flank steak(yumm). After turning it off & letting it cool down, I pulled it back under the cover and noticed multiple spots started to peel off. Why is this?

Hey! It looks like you posted an image!

If this is a photo of one of your cooks, maybe share the recipe and techniques
used, as it’s almost guaranteed one of the first questions you will be asked!

    *What seasoning did you use?

*How long did you cook it, and at what temperature?

*Did you use any special tricks or techniques?

    Traeger on!

    Why is it dripping water?

Looks like there was clearly a fire in that one corner.

Imagine lighting it on fire then asking why the paint is coming off

Traegers aren’t designed to be on fire anywhere but the fire pot. In order to avoid extrapotular fires you need to throughly clean and degrease a Traeger with a proper frequency. If enough grease was pooling up inside to burst into flames the frequency was not sufficiently proper.

That’s called a grease fire. Never hang your meat beyond the drip tray. Just because you can, dosent mean you should…. Else you get a grease fire.
