Recipe for Turkish Patlican Kebabi
Ingredients:
2 kg eggplants
1.5 kg minced lamb
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon red pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon tomato paste
1 kg tomatoes
1 kg green peppers
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (430°F).
2. Wash the eggplants and slice them into 5 cm thick rounds.
3. In a bowl, mix the minced lamb with black pepper, red pepper, salt, and tomato paste. Knead the mixture well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
4. On a large baking tray, arrange the slices of eggplant and place the meatballs in between them.
5. Slice the tomatoes and green peppers, and arrange them on a separate baking tray.
6. Place both trays in the preheated oven and bake for about 1 hour, or until the eggplants are tender and the meatballs are cooked through.
7. Once cooked, remove from the oven and serve the ‘Balcan Kebabı’ hot.
