Rice pudding is a proper nostalgic school dinner dish. Rice pudding is incredibly easy to make and it’s very tasty. You want plenty of nutmeg in your rice pudding and a crust on top.

  1. Happy Birthday from Sacramento. When in Junior and High School in Swinton, Manchester in the 1970's this was always a fave and probably because of the sultana's and skin on top. I will give this a go. I once had a great-aunt who was so old school . When asked if she wanted rice with her entre, she would say " Rice?, thats for puddin. "

  2. My Mum never put dried fruit. Just milk, sugar, rice snd and butter yes always nutmeg! And plenty of milk not stodgy at all creamy instead

  3. You must have gone to a reet posh school if you got any sort of fruit in your rice pud, all we got was the rice, and skin (if you were lucky), happy memories thanks. I also loved the frog spawn which was made better as many kids didn't seem to like it and so I could always get seconds!

  4. Really, and I mean with great desire, I love rice pudding. Because of extreme diet now days, I can only enjoy it once a year and then only with artificial sweetener.

  5. Happy birthday wor Keef! ☺️👍 I can't remember school rice pudding, but I do recall my Mam's on winter Sundays after the roast and Yorkshire's. Milky, with dried fruits, a dollop of jam, and hot enough to burn your mouth. Absolutely delicious. Thanks for sharing, now I have to make some. 😊

  6. YUM. My Mum used to make fabulous Rice Pudding, but without the condensed milk or sultanas. I'm going to give it a whirl – takes me back 60 years ! Thanks for this – such an easy recipe. Take care 🙂

  7. happy birthday, old chap! youre so old, you DID go to the literal OLD SCHOOL. thank god youre not closedminded for new school recipes tho.

  8. Ey up m'lad Keef. Aye, rice pudding’s a proper school dinner classic, that! Dead easy to knock up, an' all—just a few bits an' bobs, but it tastes reyt good. Tha' wants a fair bit o' nutmeg in there, mind, gives it that proper warm flavour. An' don’t forget that crust on top! Nowt better than a nice, crispy layer to finish it off proper.

  9. Much love from Utah! Just found the channel. I have British ancestry and am very interested in these types of things!
