Clearing out the freezer, day 1: Hähnchegeschnetzeltes (chicken strips) with mushrooms and cream

Unholy amounts of random stuff and open bags have amassed in my freezer, so it’s time to clear it out, and use up whatever is possible.
For the process I used ChatGPT to do an inventory, and then asked it to suggest meals I can cook, while adding as little extra ingredients as possible.
It gave me some suggestions I’ll probably not try (Gyoza with Nduja dipping sauce), and some you’ll get to see here over the coming days.
**Day 1: Hähnchegeschnetzeltes with mushrooms and cream, and pommes duchesse**
Interestingly enough, Geschnetzeltes seems to be a word that exclusively exists in German. In other languages I can’t find a meal that’s exactly like it, or they just have descriptions like “meet cut into strips”, or call it a “ragout” which isn’t all the way right either.
