After Popeyes and Don Julio recently announced a collaboration between the brands, chicken and tequila lovers wondered how they’d combine the two.
On Tuesday the companies announced new products and where you can get them. Unfortunately, they won’t be available in Louisville or elsewhere in Kentucky.
A recently released video showed shots of a DJ, revelers, chicken, bottles of reposado tequila and black takeout boxes with the two brand logos. Here’s what they were teasing.
What’s on the Popeyes x Tequila Don Julio Championship Lineup menu?
The menu is headlined by the new Popeyes x Tequila Don Julio Reposado Flavored Concha Chicken Sandwich, which features a chicken breast filet marinated in reposado tequila then fried in Popeyes crunch buttermilk breading, topped with a tequila lime slaw, spicy spread, a barrel cured pickle, and sandwiched between a sweet and buttery concha roll.
Additional items on the menu include the Popeyes x Tequila Don Julio Reposado Flavored Louisiana Garlic 3-Piece Wings with a specialty sauce, and a Spicy Strawberry Hibiscus Flavored Lemonade Mocktail, according to the companies.

Where will the new menu be available?
The companies said in a news release that for one day only, on Jan. 31, select Popeyes restaurants in New York City, Miami, New Orleans, and the hometowns of the teams playing in the Super Bowl, Philadelphia and Kansas City, will get a preview of the menu. Additionally, the menu will be available at the newly redesigned flagship Popeyes restaurant on Canal Street in New Orleans for an extended period, from Jan. 31 through Feb. 9, while supplies last.

Those unable to try the new menu can redeem a buy one get one free offer for a chicken sandwich when purchasing Popeyes on UberEats, as well as a $5 code to redeem on Tequila Don Julio from Jan. 29 through Feb. 9, according to the companies. The $5 code can also be redeemed for Popeyes chicken sandwiches or Popeyes wings.
