These garlic shrimp in a blanket are an amazing twist on the party classic, and just about as easy to make. The shrimp soak in a savory crushed garlic marinade, then get wrapped in crescent roll dough before being baked to a gorgeous golden brown. With big garlic flavor, these are fantastic as is, but even more delicious when served with a quick mayo-mustard sauce. Enjoy!

I thought these were Finnish korvapusti (cinnamon buns) at first. What a lovely, savory surprise <3
I call it, "Shrilanket"
Love this twist on a classic, and yes times are tough, so I will cook the egg and it's great as a noodle topping too
Can i use puff pastry I can’t get that croissant dough product in my country
A variation for this recipe occurred to me for those wanting to try other fillings or who prefer more tender seafood: When preparing the dough, wrap the pieces around a cylinder of crumpled aluminum foil about 12" long and 1" wide (about the size of making a tight 'o' with your index finger and thumb; use as many cylinders as needed to avoid rolls touching when they puff), then dress and bake them per instructions. While the rolls bake, any filling can be sauteed in a pan and then tucked into the rolls once they're slipped off the cylinder (a butter knife might be needed to loosen things). The insides of the rolls probably could also be brushed with melted garlic butter if feeling zesty or to help hold things in place. Chef John has shared yet again another fun and clearly versatile recipe!

Hello thanks for the recipe
Can they be prepared in advance and frozen?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Gosh those look good. My family loves shrimp. There's no way one dozen of these per person would be enough in my family.
Another “two nations separated by a common language” moment. Here in the UK (where they were invented) pigs in blankets are chipolatas wrapped in bacon. Sausages in pastry are sausage rolls.
God it's a masterpiece 😋🤤 yummy 😍🤤
Wow, your game day is very different than mine. Yours looks yummy.
This looks great. I generally dislike all seafood but this looks genuinely appealing!
Piggies of the sea it is for the big game! 🏈 Thanks for an interesting recipe! 😊
Ohh… That's nice.
Seems like you need some butter in this recipe somewhere.
what a great twist on an old party favorite! thanks for posting.
You truly are the common man's fancy cook. Awesome stuff Chef.
You are the Rob Lowe of the shrimp wrapped in dough
